How Our Foundation Repair Referral Service Works
Brazos Valley Foundation Repair is a referral website, not a foundation repair company. We send your request to one independent local foundation repair company. You never pay us; companies we refer you to may pay us for referrals.
Who runs this site
Brazos Valley Foundation Repair is operated by The Gadget Aid, LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company. We publish this website and pass requests along to a local company. We don't employ crews, own equipment, inspect homes or do any foundation work, and nobody on our side is a professional engineer.
We wrote the guides on this site from published sources, such as USDA soil surveys, the Texas Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Texas Department of Insurance, the cities of College Station, Bryan and Navasota, and national cost guides. Sources are listed at the bottom of each page. Prices are national ranges, not quotes.
How your request is routed
- You send a request. The form asks for your name, phone number, town, the service you need, how soon, and an optional note. To start, send a request with the form.
- Your request goes to one company. We send it to one independent local foundation repair company that serves the area. We don't send your request to a list of bidders.
- The company handles the job. Pricing and scheduling come from that company. It will tell you whether it can take your job and what it charges.
- You decide. You're under no obligation to hire the company. Any agreement is between you and the company.
Who pays
Our service is free to homeowners; you never pay us. Companies we refer you to may pay us for referrals, and that's how this site is funded. We don't add anything to your bill, and the company sets its own prices, terms and schedule.
What we don't do
- We don't perform, inspect, design or supervise any foundation work.
- We don't set prices, give quotes or collect payment for repairs.
- We don't promise or back the company's work, its availability, its prices or any warranty it offers.
- We don't give insurance, legal, engineering or code advice. Ask your insurance agent, an independent professional engineer or your city's building department.
- We don't send you marketing texts.
What to ask any foundation repair contractor
Whether you hire the company we refer you to or someone else, these questions protect you:
- Are you registered with my city? Texas has no statewide license for foundation repair contractors. College Station requires contractors to register before pulling a foundation permit, and Bryan requires contractors to register every year.
- Can I see a certificate of insurance? Check that the name matches the company on the quote.
- Where will the piers go? Ask for a written plan showing the number, type, depth and location of piers or supports. College Station requires one for the permit.
- Who pulls the permit? And will the city inspect before concrete is poured?
- Will you test the plumbing? ASCE's guidelines say water and drain lines should be tested for leaks after any repair that lifts the house.
- What are the warranty terms? Get them in writing, including whether they transfer to a buyer and what voids them.
- Would you object to an independent engineer? A Texas-licensed professional engineer (P.E.) who doesn't sell repairs can review the plan before and after the work.
Questions or complaints
If you have a problem with the company you were referred to, contact that company first. If it isn't resolved, or you want us to stop sending your requests, email us at [email protected]. We can stop referring to a company that doesn't treat homeowners fairly.
